It’s time to meet another one of the fabulous Block Party Designers! This time it’s Tangie from Tangie Baxter Designs! Tangie is also on CRD’s Creative Team and is organizing a SUPER FUN day on Saturday with  freebies every hour from our Block Party Designers!

So without further ado let’s meet Tangie…

AA: Where did you grow up? Where do you live now?
TBD: I was born in Denver, Colorado but moved to Arizona when I was 8. We lived on a citrus ranch in the middle of nowhere until I was 12, I treasure those times and remember them very clearly! It was a great childhood. We then moved to the “big city” and I’ve lived in the Phoenix/Mesa area ever since (except one year of momentary insanity that hubby and I moved 3 hours away, but we missed our families just way too much)!

AA: What’s your sign?
TBD: I’m an Aries and all that, that implies! ;)

AA: What interested you in Digital Scrapbooking?
TBD: My sister’s friend introduced us and we were giddy with shock at the fabulousness of it from the very beginning! No mess, less cost, the ability to create with out the restrictions of hands on media,  another reason to be in love with our computers? What more could a girl dream of!

AA: What’s your favorite food?
TBD: Oh hands down, Mexican food! I haven’t met an enchilada I didn’t like! There is a little mexican restaurant here that my family has been going to since my mom was a little girl. It is quite possibly a slice of heaven on earth!

AA: When did you start designing and how did you learn?
TBD: I started designing about 6 weeks after I learned about digital scrapbooking! I’m a self taught illustrator and photoshop user. Of course I must confess my sister  has been there for me when I would get frustrated! She’s a designer too (Molly DeCrow) at {wst} and we have a BLAST working and throwing ideas off each other. I opened my store in October of 2007 just 5 months after dabbling in designing-now it’s my very full time job!

AA: What are your two favorite products you have designed?
TBD: Oh my that is easy! My favorite kit I’ve ever done is actually the one that is for sale at CRD this month–Midnight in the Parlor! I worked extremely hard on it and it’s one of those kits that came together exactly how I had it in my head! It’s vintagey-modern-classic with just a hint of Halloween lurking in the edges–but mostly can be used year round!

The second is my newest kit for CRD “Sew Girlie“! I love the “modern meets vintage” look of it and I think once people open it and get inside they will be thrilled with the versatility of the elements! Originally this started with just the freebie for my interview today, but I loved it so much I kept right on going!

 AA: Do you scrap? If so, can you link us to a gallery?
TBD: I sure do (although it goes in spurts)! I don’t scrap “events” as it were. Usually it’s more thoughts and feelings I have for my family/daughter or favorite quotes and of course I’m addicted to ATC’s. You can check out my gallery at DST and CRD.

AA: If you could only have three scrap items to use what would they be?
TBD: OH MY! I shudder at the thought! Just 3? I’d have to have a great pack of vintage flowers and leaves, a set of assorted vintage papers and some glitter of course!

AA: How do you know Christina?
TBD: We went to High School together and have been best friends ever since. Kidding! Okay seriously–does stalking her count? I have been digicrushing on her since her $1 kit back in the day! My whole “digi-world” was complete when I applied for my first ever creative team call and she accepted me, my husband wondered if he would ever be able to peel me off the ceiling! Crazy good times!
